Mountain hardwear 15 deg down sleeping bag w/ stormlight waterproof size long. Note: this bag is true to it’s temperature rating. When comparing other bags be sure to use their “comfort” and not their “lower limit” temperature rating.
Stormlight was mountain hardwear’s answer to gortex. It has the waterproof/breathable outer shield and is very light for the comfort rating. This bag is in excellent condition with super loft. Mountain hardwear has a new product that replaces stormlight but they only use it in their most expensive line of bags.
To go to the mhw website and see the least expensive bag they have a waterproof/ breathable shell on $700 list price, also, don’t confuse q-shield with q-dry elite. Q-shield is available on less expensive mhw bags but is a “down treatment” and is not the same thing as q-dry elite which will stop water from getting through the shell. The last picture highlights some wrinkles that appeared after i washed (with a down washing soap that leaves no residue) and dried the bag in my drier. I contacted mhw and sent them pictures. They said it was due to static electricity and should dissipate after a while.
I don’t think that is the case but either way this issue should not affect the warmth any. The bag weighs 2 lbs. Comes with stuff sack and larger mesh storeage bag.
