Mountain Hardwear 15 SMALL Goose Down Waterproof Sleeping Bag hardware hard wear

Mountain hardwear +15 down sleeping bag waterproof breathable hard wear hardware. Note: this bag is true to it’s temperature rating. When comparing other bags be sure to use their “comfort” and not their “lower limit” temperature rating. Down is one of the best insulations for it’s weight known to man but if it gets wet it is useless. Stormlight technology, mountain hardwear’s waterproof and breathable shell, keeps out water and wind but lets your body breath naturally so you (and your down insulation) stay dry.
Bag features: 600 fill power down. Slant-baffle construction with differential cut. Tuck-stitched baffles (to prevent snagging and breaking threads). Full length baffled draft tube. Contoured hood with one-handed cord adjustment.
This mountain hardwear slormlight +15f (-9c) degree goose down sleeping bag with mountain hardwear stuff sack is right hand zippered. The dimensions printed on the label are 73″ x 30″. The bag is filled with 21 oz. Of goose down and has a total weight of 42 oz.

I can’t say enough good things about this bag. This bag is so very plush and silky comfortable. To read reviews of this bag. The temperature rating is right on and the resistance to wind and rain is impressive, so much so that in an emergency this bag could serve as a life saving temporary shelter. I washed this bag in the most gentle way possible in preparation for this sale; in a scrubbed clean bathtub with warm water and sport-wash, a residue free soap specifically designed for down.
When i laid the bag in the water to wet it, it just floated on top. I went away and came back 5 minutes later and it was still floating.

I unzipped the bad slightly and put my hands inside and it was bone dry. I pushed the bag down into the water numerous times and then pulled the bag out of the water. The outside of the shell was wetted but no water got through it (i was careful not to put the zipper into the water). The down was nice and toasty warm inside! I finally turned the bag inside-out and laid it back in the water and the inner material was able to let the water soak through. I had no idea this bag performed this well. In my estimation the only bag mountain hardwear makes right now that is comparable to this bag is the $700 spectre that sports their new version of stormlight called “dry q elite”. They have other less expensive bags but not with the level of water resistance this one has. Note: when comparing bags remember mountain hardware’s “q-shield” is just a down treatment, it will not keep water out of your bag.

Dry-q elite is the technology that will keep water out of your bag and this technology is only used in their most expensive line of bags. As you can see in the pictures it fluffs up like a new bag. The last 2 pictures shows some slight uneven coloration on the inner liner that i noticed after i took the bag out of the dryer. This is only on the inner liner. I suppose this was caused by my tumble dryer but in any case it is strictly cosmetic and generally unnoticeable.

This is a great bag in excellent condition.
