Genuine us military 4 piece modular sleep system. The original cost is $325 to $358.
The modular sleep system (mss) is a modular sleeping bag system used by the united states armed forces. The mss consists of 4 individual components the make up the complete mss modular sleep system. The 4 piece system is made up of the following.
A woodland camouflaged, waterproof, breathable gore-tex bivy cover. A lightweight olive drab green patrol sleeping bag.
A black intermediate cold weather sleeping bag. And a compression stuff sack is included to store and carry the system.
When used together, the patrol bag and intermediate bags provide extreme cold weather protection in temperatures as low as minus 40° fahrenheit when used with ecwcs. The bivy cover can be used with each of three mss configurations (green patrol, black intermediate, or combined) to be compatable with the environment in which the system is being used.
The bivy cover provides environmental protection from wind and water. The sleeping bags are made of ripstop nylon fabric and continuous filament polyester insulation. The woodland camouflage bivy cover is made with waterproof, breathable, coated or laminated nylon fabric called gore-tex. The compression sack is made with water-resistant, durable nylon fabric.
Genuine us military issue modular sleep system (mss). They are mummy-style sleeping bags and include the olive drab green patrol bag, black intermediate sleeping bag, woodland camo gore-tex bivy cover, and black compression stuff sack.
When all 3 bags are combined and fastened together, the sleep system is rated to -40° when used with the ecwcs! All components are genuine military issue from government stock.
Reversible double pull slider which allows the top or bottom to aerate. Non-locking slide fastener self repairs if jammed or snagged. The hood adjusts for heat retention. Rated for temperatures to -10°. Foot area contains twice the insulation as the rest of the bag to keep feet toasty warm. Quilted chest collar prevents air drafts. Hood also adjusts for heat retention. Compressible to one cubic foot. Nylon drawcord closure with a barrel lock.
May be either 6 strap or 9 strap. Woodland camouflage bivy cover (waterproof) – measures 76″ x 35″ to 76″ x 23″. Black intermediate cold weather sleeping bag – measures 87″ x 35 1/2″ x 23.
Green patrol sleeping bag – measures 92″37″ x 24. Black compression stuff sack – measures flat = 29″ long, 19″ wide / stuffed = 29″ long / 12″ diameter. All snaps, zippers and cords in perfect working order. To see our condition chart. Nothing beats made in the usa.
