30 degree down & cuben fiber sleeping bag by zpacks. Long and wide for comfort – measures 72″ +/- long and is rated for up to 6′ 1″ person. Zpacks truly makes, great, ultra-light gear. REI Premium Goose Down -40 Expedition / Mountaineering Sleeping Bag “Mountainer”. This sleeping bag is in excellent condition and has an average total loft of 7 inches. It contains Prime Northern Silvergrey® Goose Down, not the cheaper and heavier duck down. It is regular size, 33 x 90 inches and has 3 pounds of 100% goose down insulation. It has been stored uncompressed and has retained the original loft. COSMETIC NOTES: It is in excellent cosmetic condition. There is no damage. Note there is some soiling on the interior near the head and the bag has a slight aroma. We typically would launder this prior to even listing however it is too lofty to fit into our industrial washer and we recommend that you have it professionally cleaned, if desired. OPERATIONAL NOTES: This is an incredibly-warm bag. It is designed for true mountaineering use. ITEM INCLUDES: Nothing else is included – it comes as shown. It is intended for those who do a lot of camping and climbing in the winter or in generally colder climates. It will provide extra protection in the mountains at any time of the year and is suitable for some expedition use. Made utilizing Slant-tube constructions, it has 6″ wide tubes which overlap each adjoining tube by approximately 3″ which creates an overlapping tube effect. This is the warmest system for a given amount of Down. The narrow tubes and a full length, cross-baffle eliminate cold spots by restricting the shift of Down. It is made of 1.9 oz. Ripstop nylon with a differential cut; the outer shell cut larger than the inner shell. The outer fabric remains loose allowing the Down to maintain its loft while the inner shell confines the body and prevents elbows and knees from pushing the inner fabric against the outer shell, reducing cold spots. The inner baffles are made of a special tricot knit material. It contains Prime Northern Silvergrey® Goose Down with a total average loft of 7. The top half has 60% of the Down with an average loft of 4. It does more good on top since body weight tends to flatten the Down making it less effective. The bag is 62″ in circumference at the shoulders and 36″ at the feet. The half-moon shaped head piece can be formed into a hood with the drawstring Fixlock® clamp. The two-way, 7- long, No. 10 YKK Delrin® zipper is backed by a Down baffle and can be opened to ventilate the lower part of the bag. Color: Flame Red with Sand color lining. This is the Large variant of the bag, extra Long. Size 84″ x 30.5″. 31.5oz Net Weight of Fill. Literally used a couple of times and in great condition (used for an event). Complete with stuff sack. This is a great bag and quality brand alongside the likes of RAB / Mountain Equipment / North Face etc. Note: The stuff sack is for a different bag called Clouds Rest, but the bag is the Universe SL. The Universe SL sleeping bag is part of Mountain Hardwears Quantum collection. The Quantum series means there is seasonal and temperature versatility in this mountaineering bag not found in its competitors. The Universe SL is a 600-fill down bag with a 0 degree F -18. However, by including an expandable and insulated 8-inch draft tube this bag can be just as comfortable during a glacier whiteout as it can be on a summer mountain side. The hot air comes out of the bag by unzipping the tube in warmer temperatures and with the pull of a zipper can eliminate dead air space in colder conditions. The comfort footbox has improved fit by allowing for natural foot position while the multi-baffle increases warmth. Meanwhile, the eight-baffle tailored hood keeps the most important extremity (the one that dreams of future summits) warm and comfortable throughout the night. This waterproof and breathable sleeping bag is as functional as it is durable. The tucked-stitched baffles work to prevent threads from snagging and breaking while being packed, unpacked or pulled out and under the stars. And one need not worry about fabric catching during late night temperature regulating episodes or cold hand camp set up, as the zipper snag guards keep your bag safe and snag free.
