This was bought new in 2014 and used literally for one cabin camping trip and only 2 overnights. Kept me very warm. I’ve kept it out out of the mesh bag for storage, so it wouldn’t get squished, as I know that can ruin bags. It’s never been in its own compression stuff stack. I kept it hanging by the bottom loops out in a huge cardboard box and would rotate it frequently in my gear and sporting goods room. It’s an awesome bag with slightly better specs than the EMS mountain light bag that’s rated for 20F. It’s really an incredible bag. The material feels like a silk parachute. I’m 6’4 and right at 300 lbs. This sleeping bag is HUGE! Plenty of room for 2 people and I’ve got lots of headroom inside of the bag, including room for a pillow. There are tons of adjustments at the head to close in the top over your head completely for maximum warmth or to just keep your pillows safely inside of the bag with you. It’s amazing how good this bag feels. I do a lot of camping in very cold weather and I’m not exactly a tiny person. Neither is my husband. We both fit in this tent very comfortably being the size we are and in 22 degree weather we were VERY warm in this sleeping bag. It was well worth what we paid for it and then some. Before we got this sleeping bag, we didn’t sleep well camping because it would be so cold we would shake all night, but this time other people came out of their tents saying they didn’t get a good nights sleep because it was too cold. And we got good sleep! So, this sleeping bag is wide enough for bigger folk (200+) and warm enough for REALLY cold weather. Another cool feature it has is this piece that you can pull over your face and head if you want to, and it has this slight indention to where you can still breath, or tunnel as I call it. So your nose and mouth doesn’t freeze. This is actually the best sleeping bag I’ve ever used. We went camping in Yosemite over thanksgiving and it dipped down into the 20s every night and I NEVER felt cold. The last night a snow storm even rolled in the last night and I was cozy in a sweat shirt and leggings. It’s soooo roomy and cozy and the inside of it is so soft and warm. I hate slick sleeping bags on the inside so this was heaven. (We got the green in 0° by the way). My inventory is constantly changing, although it rarely happens an item may become unavailable. REI Vintage Rare Early 70′s Double Width 2 Person Down Sleeping Bag (80″ x 36″) 7 lbs and about 6 of loft as shown in the pictures and in excellent overall used condition and very rare. This looks as if someone had only used it a handful of times with the brass zipper handle and zipper still glowing like new and working great. The end of the zipper however toward the headrest of the bag has been sewed at the ends to provide a resting stop for the zipper as shown and is very secure and strong and works well in which I’m not sure if that is something REI had done, or someone had done for a repair fix. A couple very small light dirt/stain markings on the outside but not noticeable at all since the rest of the bag looks still new and I had only saw 2 the size of a pencil diameter. The inside looks great but does have some mild dirt soiling around the middle section which was hard to get the pictures to show. The whole bag weighs about 7 lbs. Tags still look new but the care tag label is completely faded to where you can’t read anything. The carry bag is attached as shown to the bag which one side is missing a string. Made in the USA Seattle, Wa. Very rare and collectible bag hard to find in this condition. SLEEPING BAG TEMPERATURE RATINGS AND SLEEPING BAG LOFT— The scoop on Sleeping Bag temperature ratings, the best method for an average consumer without expensive testing lab equipment is to lay out the subject sleeping bag for several days to become fully fluffed-out. Then take a normal 12 inch ruler and gently shove it up against the side of the bag, about where your ribs are. Carefully sight a level line, most likely you’ll see a reading of somewhere around 5 to 8 inches. 5 inches would be good to about 25 degrees for an average sleeper, assuming the bag doesn’t have any broken internal baffles with big cold spots resulting. 6 inches good to about 15. 7 inches good to about 5. 8 inches good to about 10 below. Could use a light cleaning from storage. Pre-owned and vintage items will have wear and signs of age. Please view the pictures closely and use photos for condition and description. Please DON’T ASSUME something comes with it. If you do NOT see it in the pictures then its NOT included… My home is a smoke and pet free home but the item could have been found and came from another source.
