US Military 4-Piece Modular Sleep System. Includes GoreTex Bivy, Patrol and Cold Weather Sleeping Bags, and Stuff Sack. This is a genuine US Army surplus Modular Sleep System, made in the USA by Tennier Industries. Each sleeping bag system contains 4 components, described in detail below: the patrol sleeping, the intermediate cold weather sleeping bag, the bivy cover, and compression stuff sack. The sleeping bags can be used independently or snapped together into the sleep system, providing comfortable year-round sleeping conditions. Snaps hold the sleeping bags and bivy cover in place, so they will not move or slide around on you when you’re trying to get in or out. Together, the sleep system is rated down to approximately -40 F. The dimensions of the different components are listed below, and should be considered rough estimations. These sleeping bags are in Fair condition. These sleep systems have been previously used, and may show moderate signs of wear. Components may contain small holes or tears that are repairable. Zippers and snaps are all functional. Sleeping bags may need laundered prior to use. Patrol Sleeping Bag – This OD green mummy-style sleeping bag is rated for temperatures down to 30 F. It features an oversized zipper for easy opening and closing, and snaps for connecting to the other sleep system components. It also features a draft flap over the zipper to prevent heat loss, as well as a drawstring cord around around the hood to seal in even more heat. Width, at feet: 20. Width, at shoulders: 34. Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag – This black mummy-style sleeping bag is rated for temperatures down to -10 F. It also features a draft flap over the zipper to prevent heat loss, as well as a drawstring cord around the hood to seal in even more heat. Width, at feet: 18. Width, at shoulders: 33. Bivy Cover – The bivy cover is tan on the bottom and has a woodland camouflage pattern on the top. It is made with a 3-layer GORE-TEX fabric, making it fully waterproof. It has a zippered closure with snaps for connecting to the other sleep system components. It also features Velcro fasteners around the hood which can be fastened to prevent openings during rainy or extremely cold weather. Compression Stuff Sack – This black stuff sack has 9 nylon straps for compression, 6 straps run the length of the bag and 3 straps run around the girth of the bag. All components of the sleep system will fit into this compression sack, and can be compressed down to 1 cubic foot. We take the time to disassemble every sleep system that we receive and grade each component individually. When we reassemble the sleep systems, we match like pieces together to create sleep systems that are consistent in quality throughout. Like New – Every component of the sleep system will generally look unused, many times the original tags are still attached. They may have a little dust or dirt on them from storage but they will be flawless in every other aspect. The stuff sacks will be the 9-strap configuration. Excellent – The bivy covers will be in flawless, like new condition. The other components will be on the high end of our very good condition, showing only minor signs of use. No holes or rips in any component, drawstrings will be intact, zippers will slide easily. They may have a little dust or dirt from storage. Very Good – All components will show some minor signs of use, but will be free of rips, tears, and holes. Zippers will slide easily and drawstrings are intact. The sleeping bags may have slight pilling or a little bit of general wear. Some of the bivy covers have had repair patches added to them by the military, but will be free of any holes or rips. All components will show moderate signs of use, but will still be fully functional. The bivy covers may have small pinholes or a small rip that could be easily covered with a patch. The sleeping bags will show more signs of general wear and may have a snag or a small rip that could be stitched up. The zippers work great and the drawstrings are intact but might need some minor TLC. The stuff sacks will generally be the 6-strap configuration. Holes, rips, missing parts when grading military surplus items.
