The US Army 2 MSS aka Modular Sleeping Bag system is a very good system for the buck, it is basically a system of 2 sleeping bags zipped together with one being labelled as patrol and one as intermediate, together they make a decent 3 season sleeping bag and with a good bivi cover bumps it upto 4 season! EXCELLENT PRICE, NOT THE PATROL BAG OR COLD WEATHER BAG BUT BOTH TOGETHER! PRE-TESTED AND ZIPPED TOGETHER, SAME DAY OR NEXT DAY DISPATCH. BECOMES 4 SEASON WHEN A BIVI BAG IS ADDED (not included) but compati ble with ones from Mil-Tec or US GI issued Bivi bag. Use the green one on it’s own for hot weather, black for cold or both for extreme! Also accepts the MSS Bivi Bags from Mil-Tec (please contact if required) and also the official issued USS issue Gore-Tex Bag which can be found on the surplus market! See details below for specifications of the sleeping bags. Meant to be usable in any environment or weather, the US Army modular sleeping bag system has it all. The innermost bag is the black Intermediate bag, and it is buttoned inside the outer green Patrol bag. If waterproofing or additional protection is required, the US issue Gore-Tex bivy cover will snap on top of the whole thing or can be inserted into a 3rd party bivi. The modularity has the added benefit of “capturing” insulating layers of air between the bags. The green Patrol bag is a good choice for summer use and does not take much space either. The outer material is 70 Denier nylon fabric, and the stuffing is Polargard® HV polyester, which does not absorb too much moisture and dries pretty quickly if it gets wet. It closes with a heavy-duty zipper and has a large hood. The zipper can be opened from both ends, so if required, the feet can have some air too in warm weather. The zipper is accompanied by snap fasteners, to which the other components can be attached. Weight about 1000 g. Length about 229 cm (suitable for up to 185 cm / 6’1 persons). The Intermediate bag is quite similar, but black, thicker, and has a double insulating in the feet. It also features a slight tightening around the chest area to prevent cold air from entering the bag from the hood opening. Weight about 1900 g. Length about 216 cm (suitable for up to 185 cm / 6’1 persons). Condition: Grade 1: May have signs of minor weather but are otherwise fully serviceable and functioning. Graded items come from military surplus and thus may show signs of minor wear but are otherwise fully serviceable and functioning. Surplus items hay have signs of professional repair but are fully serviceable and functioning, some items like rucksacks may have previous users markings in place etc. PLEASE NOTE THAT DESPITE THE US ARMY BIVI NOT BEING INCLUDED THE ONES WE SELL ON OUR WEBSITE AND HERE BEING MIL-TEC ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE PRESS-STUDS OR YOU CAN GET YOURSELF A GEN US ARMY BIVI FROM SURPLUS.
