Canadian Military Surplus -40 rated winter sleeping bag system. Includes an inner and outer down filled sleeping bag, fleece liner, scarf, compression bag, hood and insect net. The “EXCELLENT” condition sets are in near mint condition other than the fleece liner, the down is full and fluffy. The sleeping bags will from the year 2000 or newer, don’t get as many this new or in this good of condition. The fleece liners will have been sewn (I think they must wear their boots to bed, because almost every fleece liner I get is ripped, so I fix them). There is nothing worldwide in the market that can compare to these bags. They are the perfect combination of design, materials, practicality, and workmanship. The result is a versatile bag that will keep you warm and comfortable in any weather and environment. The set is a modular system, which means you can use some of the components together or all of the components, or any combination. When all 3 bag parts are used together you will be warm in -40 temperatures. The design is a combination of a mummy bag and a regular width rectangular shaped sleeping bag the result is a bag that is almost as portable as a mummy bag with the roominess of a square bag. The individual component size is listed below. The goose down insulation and the multiple layers of nylon shell material gives the entire set a weight of 12.4 lbs -or- 5.6 kg. Other bag sets on the market may be lighter but they are no way nearly as warm. The goose down also compresses down well, if the included stuff sack / compression bag is used it is possible to get the set down to an approximate 16 long x 12 diameter. Other features of the set include. Heavy duty Brass zippers. Outer down bag size: 74″ long x 24″ wide at the bottom (outside measurements) & weighs approx 2300 grams. Inner down bag: 72″ long x 21″ wide at the bottom (outside measurements) & weighs approx 2300 grams. Flannel liner: 78″ long x 25″ wide at the bottom (outside measurements) & weighs approx 650 grams. Double stitching with heavy duty thread almost everywhere. Canada Goose down filling. Multiple layers shell material and down compartments. Quilted design to keep down from bunching up. Tie / loop system to attach components together. Down filled draft flap to insulate along zipper (and keep zipper from touching you). String loops on zipper tabs (tabs on both sides of zippers). Washable cotton liner (down bags are dry clean only). Military labels attached – with care / use instructions. Tapered top opening to keep draft out and heat in. Each down bags can be used separately in warmer weather. Stuff sack / compression bag has waterproof lining. Sleeping bag exterior material is not waterproof but liquid will run off easily in case you spill something – can be wiped off.
