Most recent THE NORTH FACE REVIEW. Mind blowing warmth-to-weight ratio. This bag has the most mind-blowing warmth-to-weight ratio. Nothing else on the market, even from cottage manufacturers, comes close. Feature-wise, it’s perfectly oriented for alpine climbing. The center zip allows for climbers to anchor while sleeping if the route necessitates it; it also allows for easy venting. The FUTURELIGHT zones for the footbox and hood do an excellent job at keeping the bag dry if the ends rub against a tent that’s condensated or iced over inside. The main fabric has a very tight weave; I didn’t notice any down leaking after twenty days of consecutive use. I stayed plenty warm at high camp for Kyajo-Ri, 18,000′, in Nepal with this bag and a Thermarest NeoAir Xtherm. It’s light and warm enough that it’s replaced my need for both 0-degree and 15-degree bags. Combined with a Cloud Down Parka (and pants) could likely push the temperature way, way down. It’s expensive, but it’s also a quiver-killer in that regard. The North Face. Bummed to sell – but moving and wont be needing a bag like this for a while.
