Description: Made in the USA by Tennier Industries for the U. Military, the Improved Modular Sleep System (MSS) is a Modular Sleeping System used by the United States Armed Forces. The IMSS consists of 5 individual components that make up the Complete IMSS Improved Modular Sleep System. The Improved Modular Sleep System is constructed to insulate the user in environments ranging from mild weather to extremely cold weather. The system consists of two Mummy-style sleeping bags–the Patrol (Foliage) and the Intermediate Cold Weather (Urban Grey). Each are constructed of water-resistant, ripstop nylon. Each sleeping bag is fully functional independently. For a temperature to -30°, insert the Intermediate Cold Weather bag inside the Patrol bag. Each bag is compatible with the vapor permeable bivy cover. When all 3 components are used together the system is rated to provide 4 hours sleep at -50°F. Non-flammable and machine washable. Also includes (2) Stuff Sacks / Compression Sacks: (1) Size Large and (1) Size Small. The 5 Piece System is made up of the Following. · Temperature to +35° to +50°. · Water resistant, riptstop nylon. · Reversible double-pull (opens end to end) slider allows top or bottom ventilation. · Non-locking slide fastener self repairs if jammed or snagged. · Draft flap prevents heat loss. · Hood adjusts for heat retention; includes nylon drawcord and barrel lock. · DIMENSIONS: 92 x 37′ to 92 x 24. Military surplus please be aware that no two items are going to be alike. We do our best to inspect every item and put it into a quality grade with items in similar condition. This does not mean the item has been used or that it is not genuine U. This may happen because the military often buys items in bulk and 100 of the same item may have been sealed in a single package. Military surplus items may have slight variations by contract (each order the military made); these variations are not considered deficiencies. Our military surplus items may have been sitting for extended periods in government warehouses collecting dust and dirt. We do not consider dirt or anything that can be easily washed out of the item as a negative impact to quality. All items are inspected and graded for condition and we check for holes, rips and/or missing parts. Important Information Regarding Genuine U. Please be aware that we are at the mercy of the U. In addition, our used items will not always have the exact same condition even within the same grade. This is because not every item has the same “deficiency”. An example would be a trigger finger mitten appearing to be brand new (or they may actually be brand new) except for staining. This staining causes the mittens to be downgraded from brand new to either like new/mint or very good/excellent/nice condition depending upon the extent of the staining. In this example the “intended use” of the trigger finger mittens is not affected by the staining which is to keep your hands nice and warm. In addition, some items may need laundering but all of the items we sell will be serviceable and any deficiencies noted in the listing will not affect the “intended use” of the item.
