Heavy Duty REI Goose Down Mountaineering Mummy Sleeping Bag. The item for sale is a used heavy duty REI goose down mountaineering sleeping bag. The bag is a mummy style bag about 84 inches long plus a 14 inch down filled flap for your head. That flap has a drawstring so the down-filled flap can be snugged up around your head. The sleeping bag has 2 baffles, for extra warmth. There is a baffle in the area of your neck that surrounds your neck. That baffle has a drawstring to restrict the size of the opening and prevents warm air from escaping the bag. The other baffle runs the length of the zipper on the side of the bag. When the bag is zipped shut the baffle fits between your body and the zipper, reducing and cold air from entering the bag along the zipper. I have used the bag during the summer as well but I use it more as a cover, like a comforter, rather than sleep in the bag. This bag is in excellent condition. While I had limited mid-winter travel in the area I needed emergency gear for those times I did travel. It could get a bit nippy in that country. The bag does not have any labels about the amount of goose down or the temperature range but REI said it was one of the bags used by mountain climbers climbing Mt. The sleeping bag and stuff sack weigh about 6 ¼ pounds. Great for cold weather camping or if you like to sleep really warm. I tried to describe the item as accurately as I could.
