Navy/charcoal (10D), regular width and length, 850FP downtek waterproof down, 20F / -6.7C, Revelation top quilt from Enlightenment Equipment. Bought late last year direct from EE but never used as I havent been camping in conditions cold enough to use it. Never compressed, never taken outside or exposed to cold / moisture. For sale is a USED Western Mountaineering UltraLite 20F 6′ foot mummy sleeping bag. I’ve been using this bag for a couple years now on and off when I have time to go away on the weekends. It has zero smells and is very clean, just freshly washed it using Grangers Down Wash. On my scale, it weighs 1lb 12oz and I measure the loft to be around 5″-5.5″ depending on the section of the bag. It has ALWAYS been stored uncompressed on my extra bed or in the included storage sack(not pictured), after trips I also let it dry out before putting it away. It is pictured with about 60% of the down moved to the top of the bag as per Western Mountaineering’s directions for max warmth, although you can always change this since it is continuous baffles. It does have two rips that have been repaired with high strength thread, see pictures. The first one is located around chest level on the left side and the 2nd is on the bottom right, about 1.5ft from the bottom of the footbox near the zipper. WESTERN MOUNTAINEERING CARIBOU LONG (6-6) LEFT 850+FP SLEEPING BAG I bought this bag new 5-6 years ago and have used it sparingly, maybe 10 nights total. I like the bag, but it is very roomy and I bought another bag that is a trimmer fit and thus is slightly lighter. The shell is microfiber, which is moderately water repellent and still breathable. The construction is sewn through box baffling and the bag doesnt have a draft tube, just a piece of stiff material, which is a common trait among bags made for above freezing temps. The full length zipper unzips from either end, so you can vent on a warm night. The hood is relatively simple, compared to sub-freezing Western Mountaineering bags, but it is roomy enough and comfy. I slept in this bag at 10F using a down liner and the hood was warm enough for me, which I found to be remarkable. Since this bag is roomy, you could wear a lot of clothes in this bag, or just put extra clothing in the bag to keep the clothing warm and dry. The bag comes with a non-WM storage sack and an unused WM XS stuff sack, which should work well. Ive never had the bag in a stuff sack, I just put the bag directly in my pack. This bag has a lot of loft, about 4 inches, and has lost no loft since the day it was new. There are no marks, stains, rips, thin spots, or odors and this bag has never seen pets or campfire smoke. You would be hard pressed to tell that this bag isnt new. Down Fill 1 lb. Total Weight (24 ounces actual) Western Mountaineering is specialized enough that we can ask for our suppliers to give us the best down they can get. This creates an average yield that is almost always above 900 fill power. We state 850+ on our products because even though the down tests out at 900 or over, the real loft power is different. Once the down is inside a bag or jacket baffle it is compressed slightly by the fabric. Loft is also affected by real world humidity conditions that are not present during loft testing. Traditionally, all of the lightest weight bags are made with the extremely light ripstop nylons. We created our Caribou to be lightweight, durable, and comfortable by using MicroLite XP. Mummy bag has a full length zipper and is cut wider than average for broader shoulders and a more comfortable fit. With its highly breathable taffeta fabric, the Caribou is a durable lightweight summer bag and a great choice for AT hikers.
