The idea behind a quilt style sleeping bag is to eliminate the insulation from the bottom of a conventional sleeping bag. Insulation must have loft and trap air in order to be effective. Since any insulation beneath your body gets crushed, it is wasted. So why not leave the insulation (and the fabric and all that weight) out of the bottom of the bag? This is what a quilt style sleeping bag does, but it goes one step further. When a quilt style sleeping bag is designed well, versatility is significantly increased. Our patented pad attachment system and elasticized edging keep your body heat in and the cold drafts out. When conditions are warm, lay the quilt over you like a blanket and allow some ventilation. There are numerous variations in between, making our quilts comfortable in a much wider range of temperatures than a traditional sleeping bag. On warm nights, you can move the down to the sides or bottom, allowing a little heat to escape. On cold nights, move more down to the top of the quilt to keep that body heat in. Marmot Plasma 15 Regular Left Sleeping Bag -900 Down. Lightly used 900FP sleeping bag with excellent hood and draft collar. I slept in this bag at just above 15F and was comfortable. It is in perfect condition with no rips, tears, abraded spots, stains, or odors. The bag has 17.6 ounces of 900FP goose down and weighs a hair under 2 pounds on my digital scale. The zipper is full length and works well. I made this as a summer, warm weather bag. I’m 5’7 160lbs and I made it to fit me perfectly. Measures about 75 in length. Tapers down from 36″ at the opening, to 19″ at the foot box. Weighs under 14 ounces and packs to the size of a Nalgene bottle. Drawstring closure at the top and foot box for venting. Sewn through design to reduce weight. I left the seams where the fabrics join open (meaning I didn’t finish it with piping or anything) for easier stuffing or modification. Made to be used with a sleeping pad(although that’s probably obvious). I used only high quality, light weight material. The shell material is water resistant, downproof. 75oz/sqft nylon with a high 900 fill power goose down with an appropriate amount of overfill. Sleeping bag ratings are very subjective and don’t apply universally. If you’re a cold sleeper, a 20 degree bag on a 20 degree day may not be enough. This was designed as a “fast and light” summer bag to shed some ounces off of a 3 season when you simply don’t need as much loft. This is listed as Used and will have signs of wear that may not be pictured. All used items will show signs of their use unless otherwise noted. These include dirt, dust, stains, grease, paint, oil, rust, fabric wear, scuffing, scratching, dents, dings, warping, discoloration, etc. I cannot be responsible if your perception of used is different than mine.
