Western Mountaineering New Alpinlite Long Right Zip Overfill Sleeping Bag. I bought this new in December from Hermits Hut. I slept in it only once, with clean sleep clothes. Then realized that I need the extra room of a WM Badger. It has 3oz of overfill for a total of 24oz down and a total sleeping bag weight of 36oz. Perfect condition, virtually brand new. Comes with both storage and stuff sacks. Western Mountaineering states this about their bags with overfill. Overfill adds additional fill to your bag. This increases the warmth of the bag by 3 to 5 degrees. It will improve warmth for active sleepers since moving during sleep can shift down. Overfill also improves loft duration. During extended use down becomes clumped with moisture, dirt, and oils. Overfill prevents this by adding more fluff. So Id say this is a 15 degree bag. I got this sleeping bag for a CDT thru-hike but unfortunately I wasn’t able to go. I used it on a few overnights in Tennessee parks. I always wear dedicated sleeping clothes so my sleeping bags stay clean. What I enjoyed most about this bag is that it’s extra roomy and it opens up so you can use it like a quilt. If you’re claustrophobic or like lots of room this will be a great sleeping bag for you. Included are the stuff sack and cotton storage bag from Western Mountaineering. Bag length: 6’0. The original owner had the hood removed because he (and I) done like the head cinched up in a mummy hood. It still has the draft collar so it is like the best of both a quilt and a sleeping bag. It was sent to Western Mountaineering to have additional down added. They added approximately 5 ounces of new down. Total weight with included Zpacks cuben fiber stuff sack is 39 ounces.
