Criterion Expedition 1100 Product Description. The Criterion Expedition 1100 is designed for winter Alpinism and extreme cold expeditions. Weighing 1795g the Criterion Expedition 1100 is extremely light in weight for a sleeping bag designed to work in such cold environments. The Expedition 1100 is made as with all Criterion’s products the best materials on offer. Providing the insulation is 1100g of 850FP ethically sourced white Polish goose down. This is an extremely high quality down which provides the very high levels of insulation needed for extreme temperatures and it is housed in brick baffle (double offset boxwall) construction which eliminates cold spots. The fabric providing the shell for the Expedition 1100 is a combination of Pertex Quantum Pro (formerly Pertex Endurance) and Pertex Quantum 52g/m² (formerly Pertex Microlight). Pertex Quantum Pro is used on the outer shell and parts of the inner shell (footbox and hood), it is a robust fabric which is windproof and waterproof (please note the seams on the Expedition 1100 are not taped so the bag is not waterproof). On the inside of the bag, except for the hood and footbox, Pertex Quantum 52g/m² is used, this is a much softer feel fabric than Quantum Pro and it allows air to escape from the bag when trying to store it. Both fabrics have a DWR+ treatment which helps protect the down from any dampness that may occur. As well as the down and the baffle construction in the Expedition 1100, it has a double down filled zip baffle which eliminates heat loss through the full-length YKK zip and it also has a down-filled neck collar and hood baffle to provide insulation. If you do find yourself a little warm in this bag you can always use the 2-way YKK zips for venting to help control the temperature inside your sleeping bag. 850 FP Ethical Polish White Goose Down (95:5). Criterion Quantum 200 Product Description. The Quantum 200 is Criterion’s lightest down sleeping bag, designed for minimalists, ultralight hikers and adventure racers. Weighing a mere 530g the Quantum 200 has a tested comfort temperature of 0°C and packs into a tiny 11 x 11 x 25cm stuff sack. The Quantum 200 is a serious piece of outdoor kit. Filled with 200g of 870FP Polish Goose, which has been ethically sourced, the Quantum 200 is a boxwall constructed back with a 60/40 down ratio. This means that 60% of the down is on the top of the bag and 40% on the base. All of this is enclosed in Pertex Quantum (35g/m²) shell, Quantum (35g/m²) is a branded ripstop fabric which has DWR+ treatment and soft silky feel. This combination gives a back which has a high warmth to weight ratio, small pack size and extremely low weight. Hi there and welcome to my listing for a BRAND NEW & UNUSED Cumulus Quantum 450 sleeping bag. The Cumulus brand has recently been re-branded as Criterion – same great products just a name change, for what reason I don’t know? Cumulus bags have long been renowned for being incredibly light whilst being superbly warm right down to their stated comfort ranges and they achieve this by using some of the BEST down available and combining this with world renowned Pertex fabrics which are incredibly light and tough. I bought this bag as a middle of the road option as I was intending to go on a summer Alpine trip which didn’t happen when initially planned. When it did take place I opted to use my beefier Rab bag which is good down to -20c instead – the trip was pushing into the winter months and so I needed the security of a warmer bag. As I also have a summer down bag good to around -1c I have never found a use for this bag in the end and whilst I have always kept it for that occasion when it would be the perfect option, my partner has assured me that the (minimal) space that it takes up can be put to better use!!! This is a fantastic bag though and here are the specs. Weight – 865 grams in the stuff-sack – I have weighed this inside a dry bag with a silk liner and it still came out at under 1kg – pretty darn impressive for a 4 season bag. Packed dimensions without compression – 30 cm x 15 cm – this is inside the provided stuff-sack, it can be made almost half that size if used in conjunction with either a dry bag or compression sack – the photo with the wine bottle shows it in its normal stuff-sack – still a ridiculously small and lightweight package. 870 Fill power Polish goose down – some of the very best down in the world. Down / Feather ratio – 96 / 4. Bag Construction method – Trapezoidal. YKK zips and fasteners – the best in the world! Comes with a larger storage bag – it should be and always has been stored in this to prevent the down from losing its lofting abilities. A fantastic piece of kit for all year round UK usage and summer Alpine trips. I will accept sensible offers. Any questions please ask.
