This is a 2012 model, made with 800 FP goose down, not duck down like most of the current models that Sierra Designs makes. The bag is a fairly trim fit, but not overly trim, so there is room to move around or to wear extra clothing. The bag is a long, and although I’m just under 6′-0, I like to have a place to put extra clothing and water bottles, so the footbox is my place to put that stuff. I last used this bag on a March overnight when the temp dropped to 0F and stayed there all night. I wore a light pair of down pants and a thin down jacket over my long johns and wool socks with down booties. I slept long and warm. As you can see from the pic with a quart Nalgene bottle, the bag has a lot of loft. And the bag has a draft collar that works very well. The zipper is half length. The bag is filled with 30 ounces of down and weighs 2 pounds, 11 ounces. I will include the SD storage sack if I can find it. If I have the original stuff sack, I will include that too. I’ve stored the bag in a large cotton sack and the bag has never been in a stuff sack. Western Mountaineering Kodiak 6’6 0 Degree Gore Dryloft Down Sleeping Bag. This bag has seen minimal use (15-20 nights total and only 1 or 2 nights at a time) and has always been stored loose and flat on a closet shelf in a clean, non-smoking home. Included is the original WM stuffsack and the original WM cotton storage bag. There is plenty of room to roam in this bag if you have wider shoulders, put clothes in your bag overnight or just like to toss and turn. For reference, I’m 6’3 240 lbs. 46-48 chest It has a great hood system with 2 pulls, one for the draft collar and one to tighten it around your face. I have spent most nights in a single wall tent but have also cowboy camped on a groundsheet and you can just shake the frost/condensation off of this material in the morning. I have been warm in this bag at -5 degrees fahrenheit with a short sleeve T-shirt, socks and shorts on a good sleeping pad. Of course your comfort level depends on hydration, calorie intake, exertion level, sleeping pad R factor etc. But with heavy base layers, a quality hat and a good down jacket I’m confident you could go down to -20 degrees in this bag. It is phenomenally warm but I just don’t get out overnight in those conditions any longer. From the WM website. 5 1/4 Spacing/Continuous Baffles. 7 Loft, 0° F. Wasnt it the Big and Tall Gazzette, that called our Kodiak the XL or excel? This 0° mummy bag has a full 66 of shoulder girth and 41 of foot girth to fit any bear sized person. Of down fill this bag with 7 of loft and the continuous baffles keep the bag versatile as the weather changes. The draft tube and full down collar are all capped with Gore Windstopperfabric, and amply filled with down. The Gore Windstopper shell makes this bag stand firm against any weather. All this with a total weight of only 3 lbs. No matter what your size, we have a bag to fit! The Kodiak is also available in 7 lengths! Feathered Friends Swift 900+ FP Goose Down Sleeping Bag with 2 ounce Overfill Reg Left. This is not the current bag, but is a few years old. The shell is made of Nextec, which is a waterproof/breathable fabric. The original owner got too friendly with a campfire and this bag suffered for it. I put patches of Tenacious Tape on the damaged spots and they are at least secure, if not attractive. All damaged spots are shown in the pics. The bag has 21 ounces of 900+ FP goose down and weighs 2 pounds 5 ounces. Still pretty light for a 10F bag. This bag is pretty roomy, rated dimensions are 64/48/40 inches at shoulders/hips/feet. But I’m a slender guy and this bag would be ideal for someone with a wider build. Feathered Friends claims the bag has a draft collar, I think they call it a passive collar, but they just overfilled a few sections of the baffling, so it isn’t much of a draft collar in my book. The bag has excellent loft, as you can see in the pic with the Nalgene quart bottle. I used a generic laundry sack (not included) for storage and I don’t have a stuff sack. A great winter bag that is basically brand new. I bought it for winter camping in Minnesota and then moved to Las Vegas before I could really get any use out of it. 800-fill-power goose down offers superb warmth for minimal weight. Draw cords at shoulder and hood openings. Small pocket on draft tube for lip balm, watch, headphones, etc. Comes with original stuff sack and mesh storage bag. Note: This is not the current version of the Marmot Col sleeping bag. This item has a nylon shell instead of Pertex. Western Mountaineering Apache 15 Degrees Long Left Zip. There are couple patches all shown in the photos. Some patches are bigger than the other. Also notice the pin holes that also have been patched. Also there is some weird black stain got to the fabric, I couldn’t get it off even after the washing. Brand New Western Mountaineering Sequoia MF 5 Degree Sleeping Bag. I bought this beautiful bag as the store’s floor model. It’s in perfect condition. I wanted a bag that I could take in the Sierra’s during the winter, Denali next year, and other freezing winter adventures. Also, just thought I wanted an extra warm bag to have around so I could take inexperienced backpackers with me on trips and they wouldn’t complain about being cold. However, I’m going a different route now. I sleep very warm, and I simply don’t need a bag this warm. Everyone knows that Western Mountaineering makes the best bags (sorry, but they’re much better than feather friends) and that their degree ratings are highly underrated. For example, I’ve used their Summerlite 32F on a 10 degree night at 13,800 because I didn’t want to summit Whitney at night and wasn’t too cold despite only having shorts and a lightweight puffy. But again, I sleep very warm and simply don’t need a Western Mountaineering bag rated at 5F unless I was going into something in the -40 range. And at -40 I would have so much other gear (jackets, thermals, etc) that again I still wouldn’t need a bag rated down to 5F. That being said, this would be a phenomenal bag for 90% of backpackers, recreational campers, cold sleepers, or people that just want a luxurious sleep during the night. 5 1/4 Spacing/Continuous Baffles. 7 Loft, 5° F. For serious weather protection our roomy Sequoia is available in a tightly woven 1.2 oz. The MicroLite XP fabric offers maximum breathability while allowing a high degree of water resistance. These Sequoias have a full down collar solidly stuffed with down to provide a protective seal from the bellows effect as you move about inside your bag. The continuous baffles allow you to adjust the down fill to suit the changes in weather.
