This bag is a long, and thus has about 2 more inches of girth than a regular. My experience has been that in this line of bags, a long will fit up to a 6′-6 tall person. The extra girth is good for a stout person, or someone who likes a little extra room. Or someone who wants to put extra clothing (and maybe boots) inside the bag to avoid having to put on cold clothing and footwear in the morning. This is a very comfortable, warm sleeping bag. I recently slept in it at Bryce National Park in the snow and was very comfortable. I measure about 8 of total loft. Vintage REI “Alaskan” Model, Down Filled, Winter Sleeping Bag. One Owner (me), used exclusively in the Colorado mountains. Got this as a graduation present in 1985 (guess I’m vintage too). This bag is WARM! Most of my nights using this I slept on a pad with this as a cover. Used on weekend backpacking and ski trips for about 10 years, then has mostly resided in the large storage bag in a dry, Colorado closet. Down remains light and lofty. Dry Colorado means no mustiness is present. Minimal if any staining. Comes from a smoke-free environment. 2 pounds 3 oz fill weight (goose down) according to the tag. Finished size is 33×92 inches.
