MOONSTONE PACIFIC CREST TRAIL LONG LEFT 800 DOWN SLEEPING BAG EUC I bought this bag recently, and tried it on, then washed it. My honest opinion is that this bag is good down to about 20°F, and a little lower with extra clothing. This bag has 21 ounces of 800 fill power down. The baffling in Moonstone bags is trapezoidal, and if you look at the pics, you can see that the baffles appear to alternate between long and short. If you open the bag and look at the inside, you can see that those baffles alternate short and long, giving each section a trapezoidal profile. The objective is to minimize the possibility for cold spots. The baffle spacing is pretty tight, averaging less than 5 inches. You can see that there are 16 sections below the hood, whereas most sleeping bags now have 13-14 sections for a similar length sleeping bag. The hood is roomy, form fitting and very comfortable. One pic shows the back side of the hood. I always wear a hat and I like to have a small pillow inside the hood, and this hood looks perfect. The loft is about 4-5 inches, as you can see by looking at the bottle of water. The bag has a plush draft collar at the neck. The internal dimensions are about 60/50/40 for shoulders/hips/feet, which makes this a fairly trim bag, although a slender person could wear a lot of clothes in this bag. This bag would be great for a person up to probably 190-200 pounds, or a smaller person who would like to be able to put extra clothing and perhaps a quilt inside the bag. The bag is a long, and my 511, 175 pound frame had a lot of length to spare, and although I think the bag would be suitable up to about 66, Id be cautious, and suggest a maximum height of 64 to be safe, unless a person has personal experience with Moonstone bags. The listed finished size on the tag, 30″ by 83″, refers to the internal dimensions of the bag. The lining color takes a little time to get used to, but I assure you that if you are sleeping in this bag at 4AM on a. 20°F night, you will be warm as toast and not thinking about the color. After laundering with Nikwax Down Wash and drying thoroughly, the bag has been stored in the storage sack, in a clean spare bedroom. No pets, no vermin, no stains, rips, tears, damaged seams or odors. The only mar is the marking inside where a previous owner apparently wrote their name with a Sharpie. MOONSTONE PACIFIC CREST TRAIL II 800 LONG LEFT 10F RATED DOWN SLEEPING BAG EUC I bought this bag about 15 years ago, and have slept in it maybe 5-10 nights. My problem was that I didnt have enough time off work to spend it out backpacking. This bag has 24 ounces of 800 fill power down, contained in an outer shell made of Pertex Endurance, which was a waterproof/breathable shell fabric for sleeping bags. The shell is substantial and durable. The baffling in Moonstone bags is trapezoidal, and if you look at the pics, you can see that the baffles appear to alternate between long and short. If you open the bag and look at the inside, you can see that those baffles alternate short and long. In other words, a baffle that is long on top is short on the bottom. The objective was to minimize the possibility for cold spots. The baffle spacing is pretty tight, averaging less than 5 inches. Without the insert, I slept comfortably in this bag down to about 10F. With the insert, I slept comfortably down to -10F. Im a skinny old guy now, and the bag is too roomy for me, so I want to sell it. This bag would be great for a person up to probably 250 pounds, or a smaller person who would like to be able to put extra clothing and perhaps a quilt inside the bag. The bag is a long, and my 511, 175 pound frame had a lot of length to spare, and although I think the bag would be suitable up to about 66, Id be careful, and suggest a maximum height of 64 to be safe, unless a person has personal experience with Moonstone bags. Very nice Moonstone Premium Goose Down Sleeping bag. Moonstone was a premium outdoor retailer that went out of business a number of years ago. They made some stellar clothing and outdoor gear in their prime. The shell of this bag was made in China but the bag was filled and finished here in the USA. This is a Medium size bag for folks up to Six Foot. The bag has a few black marks from use on the outer shell at the foot end that do not take away from the functional use and are hardly noticeable. Although it is a used bag the goose down fill is full and lofty and the bag does not smell unpleasant. The bag has a foot contoured foot box area for comfort as you can see in the pictures. Moonstone Mountaineering -20 degree Cassin Ridge expedition grade sleeping bag. Excellent, almost new condition; used four days. Regular (6′) length, right hand zipper. This is a top-shelf premium quality sleeping bag. Compare to Western Mountaineering Puma Gore Windstopper or Feathered Friends Ptarmigan. The cut and style of the bag is most similar to the FF Ptarmigan. Premium down with 10-12′ of loft. I have slept in this bag at -10 degrees in gale force winds and been absolutely cozy. Bag has always been stored in its large cotton storage sack, indoors, closeted, warm, dark and dry. Weight is 3 lbs 13 oz on my scale. Again, compare to specs for a Feathered Friends Ptarmigan or Western Mountaineering Puma.
