Synthetic bags are inevitably heavier and more bulkier than those which use down. In the Nova range, that disadvantage is minimised through the use of Polarloft insulation, a lightweight nylon outer combined with ME’s most thermically resistant construction methodology, to give you a superb entry-level backpacking and mountaineering sleeping bag. The Polarloft insulation strikes the perfect balance of warmth, durability and comfort. The Helium 20 Denier outer is lightweight and breathable combined with a Supersoft 30 Denier lining that provides next to skin comfort, is breathable and durable. The top of the bag utilizes Keystone shingle construction, this offers the greatest warmth for the minimum of weights combined with a simple yet effective Offset layer construction on the underside of the bag. The Nova IV features an intergrated collar with a single handed Lode Lock closure with quick release. This essentially is two internal captivated magnets which automatically pull together and then lock into place, preventing the bag from accidentally opening during your nights sleep. The Nova IV is the warmest bag in the Nova Range. It is suitable for all year round UK use even in the toughest Scottish winter conditions, as it will keep you warm even if it gets damp. This is a great choice of bag for snow-holing and winter bivis, making it popular amongst winter mountaineers and ski tourers.
