This vintage Bristlecone Mountaineering sleeping bag is over 40 years old but was hardly ever used. A repair of a seam separation and zipper stop was made but it is in otherwise excellent condition. There are no odors, stains or tears. It measures 68″ long from the feet to the neck with an additional 14″ for the hood portion. It is 19″ wide at the feet and 28″ at the widest portion at the shoulders. The hood can be tightened over the head with a pull string. The full length zipper is on the left side with a double pull slider so it can be opened and closed from either outside or inside the bag. The repairs to a seam separation on the inside of the bag was made with a Bondex nylon patch that is designed for back packs. It is a very strong, thin, waterproof and flexible adhesive fabric that firmly adheres to the sleeping bag lining. It is nothing like duct tape and it is difficult to feel the transition from the bag fabric to the patch. The repair was photographed. The zipper stop was broken and a new one fabricated by sewing 1/4 of the zipper closed and using Bondic UV activated glue to form a solid stop as photographed. The zipper works perfectly. Due to the harsh combat environments gear will show: wear, dirt, dust, staining, discoloration etc. Rather than downgrading some field gear we send it out for repairs, this is done at a local upholstery shop.
