Vtg 40s 50s Stearns MINNESOTAN Retro Sleeping Bag Camping Lake Cabin Bedroll. Vintage Stearns “MINNESOTAN” Model 50 sleeping bag dating from the late 1940′s or’50′s. Bag measures 30″ x 74″ zipped up and not counting the cover sheet. Olive Drab in color with bright red/straw color interior. Tag identifies fiber as Dynel-Nylon. Interior fabric has a very soft feel. Metal Crown zipper similar to those used for U. Red Minnesotan sewn-on patch is large and attractive. Stearns Manufacturing changed ownership after World War 2 and began focusing on a variety of outdoor and sporting products. Later their product line moved primarily to the flotation products that they are well-known for today. This sleeping bag is a rare example of an early Stearns sporting goods item. Sleeping bag is in very good, lightly used condition. Well-stored, clean and completely odor neutral. Color is consistent inside and out. There is one oily spot on the outside bottom and a little water staining (see photos 10-12). Crown zipper is securely attached and glides smoothly all the way around. Vintage Sleeping Bag Blanket Flower Power Daisy Reversible. This is an absolutely incredible, retro sleeping bag. It has no rips or tears and comes from a smoke. There are some stains. On the flower side, there is only one small light brown stain that I can find. However, on the pink side, there are multiple stains and areas of discoloration. The zipper does work just as it should.
