We are offering for sale a Sea to Summit Spark SPII 35F mummy sleeping bag with 850 Ultradown filling. This is an ultralight bag weighing 16.4 ounces. I bought it at a REI used gear sale 4 or 5 years ago and used it twice since. I have found no damages or defects. I have stored the bag properly, uncompressed in the cotton storage bag (included). A compression bag is also included, so it can be compressed to a super small size to fit into a pack. This is filled with the highest quality 850 fill goose down to provide lots of warmth for its weight. Provides a water-repellent feature. The bag is rated at 35. Zipper is located on the left side, and goes approximately 1/4 the length of the bag. Weight is approximately 16.4 ounces, very light. Size is 75 inches x 29 inches. The superior combination of 850+ loft 90/10 premium goose down, the moisture protection of the ULTRA-DRY Down and the micro-weight 10 Denier Nylon shell and 15 Denier lining ensures that your bag stays dry and warm wherever you are. The Spark is an ultralight, minimalistic bag with exceptional warmth. It’s balance of size, weight and warmth make it an excellent summer sleeping bag, especially for weight and space conscious cyclists or minimalistic backpackers. The secret to the Spark’s warmth to weight ratio is in the premium quality down, the 1/3 length light-gauge #3 YKK zip and high performance micro-weight shell and liner fabrics. The Spark is designed as a close-fitting mummy bag with a full hood, foot box and a short zip to maximise fit and warmth while keeping weight and bulk to a minimum. The bag is constructed entirely from box wall baffles including the foot-box for even heat retention. The head and neck baffles have been enlarged to trap vital warmth. Everyone sleeps differently; some people are very warm sleepers while others feel the cold easily. There are many factors that affect your warmth and comfort in a sleeping bag. An important factor is that you use a good insulating mat to prevent your body heat from being drawn into the cold ground. Other factors include your tent or shelter, gender and metabolism, clothing, sleeping bag liner, use of the hood and your daily calorie intake. Although the EN13537 standard does not identify a single precise temperature a tested sleeping bag is suitable for, it does provide an industry standardised temperature range that a typical user can refer to as a guide for the conditions their bag will be most comfortable in. The EN13537 standard provides three temperature levels to guide a consumer in their choice: COMFORT The temperature at which a standard woman can expect to sleep comfortably in a relaxed position. LOWER LIMIT The temperature at which a standard man can sleep for eight hours in a curled position without waking. The EN13537 temperature tests use a thermal manikin with heaters and temperature sensors to measure the insulation value of a sleeping bag. This manikin is wearing one layer of long underwear and is placed inside the sleeping bag on an insulating mat. The test is conducted in a temperature controlled chamber and a range of comfort temperatures are derived from measuring the energy required to maintain homeostasis in the manikin to a set temperature. All Sea to Summit sleeping bags have been tested to the EN13537 standard. We recommend you use our EN13537 quoted ratings as a guide and a comparative reference to other EN13537 tested bags.
