The Bivy (MSS style) has female snaps inside for attaching to compatible sleeping bags. However, the Coyote Sleeping Bag (USMC style) lacks the male snaps to attach to the Bivy.
USMC Modular Sleeping Bag System, Used. The USMC Military Issue Modular Sleep System is the Marines version of the well-known Army Issue sleeping system allowing for one set to give you an all-temperature sleeping bag layering option. The USMC system is designed to be lighter weight with the added features of the bug net on the bivy sack. Marines sleeping bags are also front opening for quick and easy exit. The USMC system comes with both the heavy weight intermediate sleeping bag, 3 season lighter bag, bivy and stuff sack combinations. The long or regular option refers to the 3-Seson sleeping bag which both fit equally into the intermediate and Bivy Sack. We build these as the original issue system including the outer compression Sealine Waterproof Stuff Sack, the smaller Compression Sealine Stuff Sack designed to carry the 3-season bag.
