Ray Mears 4-Season Golden Eagle Sleeping Bag – Nanok of Norway version. Ray Mears Golden Eagle, 4-season sleeping bag. I have genuinely only used this bag once and it was used with a sleeping bag liner and a hat, inside a clean tent, so as good as new really. It has been stored un-compressed, in a large fabric drawcord bag, to avoid damaging the fill material. This was an original model Golden Eagle, made by Nanok of Norway. The current version is made in Poland, probably to save on manufacturing costs. Heres what they say about the current version on the Ray Mears website. I believe this would similarly describe the bag I have, but cannot say for certain, as I dont have the original spec, but being made by Nanok, it was probably even better. The Ray Mears Golden Eagle Bag is a premium-quality 4-season synthetic sleeping bag, designed exclusively for Woodlore by Ray Mears. The Golden Eagle was primarily designed for use through late autumn to early spring in the UK. However, it is also suitable for use in colder regions, proving itself in laboratory tests to provide safe insulation at temperatures as low as -22°C. The latest Carp Duvet Plus sleeping bag incorporates two key changes that have been rolled out after we took notice of customer feedback on the original bag. The main change is the adjustment to the sleeping bags dimensions; reducing the length by over 30cm and widening by 5cm to compensate for that reduction. This means that the bag better matches the length of most bed chairs, fitting far more snugly on standard and wide style beds. We have also redesigned the carry bag so customers that choose to pack the bag away instead of leaving them folded in the bedchair, can do so much easier than with the previous version. With the inner sheet removed (or attached to the bottom leaf so you sleep on it), the outer shell is a perfectly big and comfy 4-Season bag on its own. If you also utilise the inner thermal sheet, by pegging it onto the top portion of the sleeping bag, the Carp Duvet Plus is made 5-Season, offering a high level of comfort, even in the coldest conditions. All inner surfaces are lined using super smooth 190D rip stop Taffeta, allowing comfortable, uninhibited free movement without the bag constricting or following you about. The Carp Duvet Plus features full shoulder and zip baffles, plus draw cord on hood which all helps to eliminate draughts and keep you warm and cosy whilst youre out on the bank.
