Made to be 100% waterproof with Gore-Tex fabric and heavy duty YKK zippers it is tough enough to handle abusive weather. A Bivy cover is made to keep you both dry and warmer while sleeping outside your tent by acting as an additional heat barrier during winter and vent-able during the warmer months. This is a really nice bag in amazing condition. 52 ounces of goose down fill. I don’t know what these were rated to. I have seen some references to -20°F and it would not surprise me at all.
