Regular down takes on water and is very difficult to dry; DriDown proprietary process treats each individual duck down plume with a hydrophobic finish. With the duck down now resistant to water, the insulation maintains its loft and stays dry 7 times longer than untreated down. It also performs better in high humidity than regular down and, in case it accidentally gets wet, it will dry out faster, too. This has been my go-to bag for most of my trips the past three or four years. At a guess, I’ve used it two or three dozen nights and have always aired it out thoroughly and stored it gently. It has no holes or any other significant defects, but there were some “spots” (shown in the picture with my hand) that were there when the bag was new. The spots appear to be places where the shell material is fused somehow but they have no functional impact at all. Sale includes the net storage sack and the original stuff sack. [Update on the "spots"] Responding to a message about the spots, I just took a close look in bright light… And they aren’t “spots” at all.
