US Military Improved Modular Sleep System. Includes GoreTex Bivy, Patrol and Cold Weather Sleeping Bags, and Large Stuff Sack. This is a genuine US Army surplus Improved Modular Sleep System (IMSS), made in the USA by Tennier Industries. Each sleeping bag system contains 4 components, described in detail below: the patrol sleeping, the intermediate cold weather sleeping bag, the bivy cover, and 1 large compression stuff sack (We are currently out of the small stuff sacks, so only the large is included). The sleeping bags can be used independently or snapped together into the sleep system, providing comfortable year-round sleeping conditions. Snaps hold the sleeping bags and bivy cover in place, so they will not move or slide around on you when you’re trying to get in or out. Together, the sleep system is rated down to -30° F or -40° F. These sleeping bags appear to be in Like New condition. We receive these items in bulk from the military so we cannot say for sure whether or not they are brand new, but these bags to appear to be in flawless condition. These sleeping bags are machine washable, and therefore we do not consider artifacts from storage dust, smell, etc. As negative impacts to quality. Patrol Sleeping Bag – Foliage in color, this mummy-style sleeping bag is rated for temperatures down to 30° F. It features an oversized zipper for easy opening and closing, and snaps for connecting to the other sleep system components. It also features a draft flap over the zipper to prevent heat loss, as well as a drawstring cord around around the hood to seal in even more heat. Width, at feet: 24. Width, at shoulders: 37. Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag – Urban grey in color, this mummy-style sleeping bag is rated for temperatures down to -10° F. Bivy Cover – The bivy cover is dark grey on the bottom and has an ACU camouflage pattern on the top. It is made with a 3-layer GORE-TEX fabric, making it fully waterproof. It has a zippered closure with snaps for connecting to the other sleep system components. It also features Velcro fasteners around the hood which can be fastened to prevent openings during rainy or extremely cold weather. Compression Stuff Sack – The Improved Modular Sleep System comes with a large compression stuff sack, grey in color. (We are currently out of the small stuff sacks, so only the large is included). We take the time to disassemble every sleep system that we receive and grade each component individually. When we reassemble the sleep systems, we match like pieces together to create sleep systems that are consistent in quality throughout. Like New (this listing). Every component of the sleep system will generally look unused, many times the original tags are still attached. They may have a little dust or dirt on them from storage but they will be flawless in every other aspect. Excellent – The bivy covers will be in flawless, like new condition. The other components will be on the high end of our very good condition, showing only minor signs of use. No holes or rips in any component, drawstrings will be intact, zippers will slide easily. They may have a little dust or dirt from storage. Very Good – All components will show some minor signs of use, but will be free of rips, tears, and holes. Zippers will slide easily and drawstrings are intact. The sleeping bags may have slight pilling or a little bit of general wear. Some of the bivy covers have had repair patches added to them by the military, but will be free of any holes or rips. Fair – All components will show moderate signs of use, but will still be fully functional. The bivy covers may have small pinholes or a small rip that could be easily covered with a patch. The sleeping bags will show more signs of general wear and may have a snag or a small rip that could be stitched up.
