Vintage’90s Marmot Goose Down Mummy Sleeps Bag. I’m the original owner. I’ve properly stored my Marmot sleeping bag in a no-smoking home. Never stored compressed long-term. Compressed no longer than 2 days. I bought it approx. 1993 & used it for just 6 nights/times in the summer & early fall Midwest. I showed it to a few gear people who commented, “Very clean”, “No odor”, “Looks like-new”, “Fair price”. It’s time to find it a new owner, as I haven’t used it in years! I’ll update this listing when & if I locate the original specs. In almost new condition except for yellow staining (odorless). The staining is mainly on the front side per attached photo. On the backside, you might also see a very small & hard-to-locate stain. It’s so small, I often miss it, depending on the light. My good camera does not show it but I’ve included a photo of the small area where I’ve seen it. I never kept food or pets inside the tent. I carefully tried to manually remove staining on the front side. After a little topical rinse, I applied a gentle, warm mild powered detergent directly to the staining. I gave the area a second topical rinse. No luck in removing the staining. From there, I chose not to machine wash the entire bag, as the stain seems permanent. And given that the sleeping bag is very clean inside & out, it does not need an entire machine wash. I thought it better to preserve the bags original, like-new loftiness. The staining is cosmetic because it does not affect the function of the sleeping bag & has no odor. Other than the Odorless Staining, In Like-New Condition. Nicely quilted & puffy/lofty. Never exposed to bleach. Never stored stuffed or wet. Never in the compression stuff sack for more than 1 to 2 days. Always aired after each use. Two loops at bottom of the bag for hanging to air out. Note: As with any nylon fabric near a zipper, always zip carefully to prevent the nylon from getting caught in zipper. Large Label with Contents & Care Instructions (Front & Back). Insulation: Goose Down, Shell & Lining: 100% Nylon, RN 79448 & CA 02986, DO NOT Store Stuffed Or Wet. Compression For Long Periods Of Time Will Cause Loss Of Loft. Machine Wash Separately: Commercial FRONT LOAD ONLY. Gentle, Warm, Down Soap Or Mild Powdered Detergent. Commercial Dryer with Tennis Balls to Fluff. Low or No Heat under 125°, Verify Operating Temperature. DO NOT DRIP DRY. DO NOT DRY CLEAN. Small Labels Showing Size & Model. Bundled Item 2 of 2. VINTAGE 90s Granite Gear. The Original Rock Solid Compression Sack. Made IN USA – RARE. See last photo (#12). Used just 6 times. Vintage hard to find, especially in excellent condition. Bought it in early’90s. I fit my Vintage’90s Marmot Goose Down Mummy Style Swift Model in this same compression sack listed here. The Marmot sleeping bag is 6 ft. In length & 30 in width. Probably would not fit a heavy-duty winter sleeping bag. You may already know that Granite Gear LLC, founded in 1986, created & introduced the 1st generation Rock Solid Compression Stuff Sack. I remember discovering it in the early’90s at a Chicago gear store. According to a product review, not long after this innovative sack was introduced, it drew a gear-cult following. Includes “Medium, Rock Solid, Compression Stuff Sack, 420 Denier Pcleth” (Packcloth). Blue (Body), Black (Straps & Attachments), Grey (Top Cover). Beautifully designed & sewn-in brand patch. In black (background), teal (a mountain shape & “Granite Gear” brand name), and purple (“Made In USA”). Today, Granite Gear compression stuff sack is made in China. And its current brand patch is 2-color in black/white with a different graphic (mountain & metal). Length: 19″ L x 8.5″ W. Weight: 5.1 oz. From Granite Gear LLC’s website. Wash in cool water with a mild detergent, rinse really well and air dry in a shaded location. Sacks and packs will dry quicker if you turn them inside out part way through the drying process.
