Differential cut – outside shell cut 8 greater in diameter than inside shell provides less tendency to develop cold spots, gives far greater roominess for inside shell and is superior but more expensive to produce. Slant box baffle design – baffles are sewn between outer and inner shells at a slant, giving an overlapping construction. Safe well below 0 degrees if you are on a pad and the wind is blocked. Talon zipper with down inner flap. Zipper opens from top or bottom to allow for ventilation if wanted. Draw string around hood with toggle clasp. The test is conducted in a temperature controlled chamber and a range of comfort temperatures are derived from measuring the energy required to maintain homeostasis in the manikin to a set temperature.
