Vintage REI Made in Seattle McKinley Expedition 0 degree Down Sleeping Bag. Remaining bag has a Red and White zipper. Bag weight 3lbs 13oz. Bag has a YKK Vislon zipper and is late 1970′s. 3/4 length zipper system saves weight and still allows you to adjust comfort as needed. Rab 1000 Expedition Goose Down Sleeping Bag. Dispatched with a signed for, fully insured service. One of the warmest sleeping bags there is! Designed specifically for polar and high altitude, with a comfort range around -20/-25C (-15C : -30C extremes), this particular bag is in excellent condition. Used only a few times in alpine winters I can honestly say I found it warm at -12/-15C. If youre heading anywhere cold and nasty, or if you find that you sleep a bit cold and need something with substance, then this is for you. The outer fabrics are Pertex Endurance (blue upper, gold inside hood & black outer hood and underside) which has a coating to repel snow/frost etc to protect the down (eg from blown snow or frost/ frozen breath inside a tent or snow hole), while the black inside below the collar is lightweight Pertex for breathability. Complete with a (Marmot) loose cotton storage bag as well as the Rab stuff sack. Photo of packed bag shown next to A4 sheet of paper for comparison. This is the regular sized left hand zip model; good for someone up to a maximum of 1.95/64. Im 1.70/57 and could comfortably sleep in just about any awkward space with – room at the foot for keeping a few layers warm for the morning. Rab used to offer a repair/tailoring service for their bags (and other outdoor repair centres may still do so) where you could shorten the bag and have the spare down put back in to other areas to boost the warmth factor (for example around the foot or chest areas); this could be an option for shorter folk (less space to heat) or women who might feel the cold a bit more. Given that this bag is in almost new condition, that would still represent a significant saving over a new one.
