Made in USA SUBZERO Extreme Cold Weather Sleeping Bag w. New Sealed in Bag, Unissued. These sleeping bags are Olive drab in color and made of water-repellent poplin cotton outer shell with 80% down 20% polyester filling. They feature a 64in long zipper, offset stitching at the seams and a 3in storm flap with snaps over the zipper rated for -20°F. Mummy style bags with a draw cord hood, with included green sleeping hood. Made by Gillette Industries, INC. These bags are 84 inches long, 30in wide at the top and 14in at the bottom and weigh 8lbs. They were issued from the 1970s into the early 2000s. The bag comes in one size, its in a mummy shaped bag made with quilted overlapping channels. The outer channels are filled with mixture of waterfowl feathers and down, the inner channels are quilted with batting to provide the necessary insulation. The shape and design of the bag give more warmth with less weight, the outer fabric is water repellent. The full length free-running fastener(zipper) at the front opening of the bag has webbing loops attached to the slider for ease of operation, the bag has snap fasteners provided on case the zipper fails, tapes at the bottom of bag are used to tie the bag when it is rolled. This is a genuine US Army surplus Gore-Tex Bivy Cover, a component of the Improved Modular Sleep System, or IMSS. This listing is for the bivy cover only; no other components of the sleep system are included. You can use this bivy cover around any sleeping bag, but it is designed to snap into the other components of the Modular Sleep System. Made of Waterproof/Windproof 3-layer Gore-Tex. Secures with Snaps, Zippers, and Hook and Loop Fasteners. Measures 85 x 28 x 35. Made in the USA by Tennier Industries The bivy cover is dark grey on the bottom and has an ACU camouflage pattern on the top. It is made with a 3-layer GORE-TEX fabric, making it fully waterproof. It has a zippered closure with snaps for connecting to the other sleep system components. The US Army 2 MSS aka Modular Sleeping Bag system is a very good system for the buck, it is basically a system of 2 sleeping bags zipped together with one being labelled as patrol and one as intermediate, together they make a decent 3 season sleeping bag and with a good bivi cover bumps it upto 4 season! EXCELLENT PRICE, NOT THE PATROL BAG OR COLD WEATHER BAG BUT BOTH TOGETHER! PRE-TESTED AND ZIPPED TOGETHER, SAME DAY OR NEXT DAY DISPATCH. BECOMES 4 SEASON WHEN A BIVI BAG IS ADDED (not included) but compati ble with ones from Mil-Tec or US GI issued Bivi bag. Use the green one on it’s own for hot weather, black for cold or both for extreme! Also accepts the MSS Bivi Bags from Mil-Tec (please contact if required) and also the official issued USS issue Gore-Tex Bag which can be found on the surplus market! See details below for specifications of the sleeping bags. Meant to be usable in any environment or weather, the US Army modular sleeping bag system has it all. The innermost bag is the black Intermediate bag, and it is buttoned inside the outer green Patrol bag. If waterproofing or additional protection is required, the US issue Gore-Tex bivy cover will snap on top of the whole thing or can be inserted into a 3rd party bivi. The modularity has the added benefit of “capturing” insulating layers of air between the bags. The green Patrol bag is a good choice for summer use and does not take much space either. The outer material is 70 Denier nylon fabric, and the stuffing is Polargard® HV polyester, which does not absorb too much moisture and dries pretty quickly if it gets wet. It closes with a heavy-duty zipper and has a large hood. The zipper can be opened from both ends, so if required, the feet can have some air too in warm weather. The zipper is accompanied by snap fasteners, to which the other components can be attached. Weight about 1000 g. Length about 229 cm (suitable for up to 185 cm / 6’1 persons). The Intermediate bag is quite similar, but black, thicker, and has a double insulating in the feet. It also features a slight tightening around the chest area to prevent cold air from entering the bag from the hood opening. Weight about 1900 g. Length about 216 cm (suitable for up to 185 cm / 6’1 persons). Condition: Grade 1: May have signs of minor weather but are otherwise fully serviceable and functioning. Graded items come from military surplus and thus may show signs of minor wear but are otherwise fully serviceable and functioning.
